Liverpool Will Be Humiliated by Man City at Anfield! What Say You?OperaNewsSquadFeb 5, 2021 2:04 PM

Hey, football fans on Opera News! How’s everything going? Welcome to this week’s ‘predictions and preview’ from Opera News Squad!

It took the defending champions Liverpool 30 years to end their wait to be champions of England, but Jurgen Klopp's team are on the brink of surrendering their crown just seven months after lifting the Premier League trophy for the first time. In fact, if they fail to beat Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday, Liverpool can forget about retaining their title.

On the other hand, City haven't won a league game at Anfield since 2003, but if they can end this dry spell on Sunday, the title will be heading to Manchester.

Time will tell whether it ends up with City or United, but whichever way it goes, Liverpool will be watching from afar. We predict that Liverpool will possibly be humiliated by Manchester City this Sunday. Let’s wait and see!

    Liverpool vs Manchester City

    Kick off: 17:30

    Date: Sun, 07-Feb-21

    Probable Lineups

    Team News

Liverpool will be 10 points off first if they lost to Manchester City on Sunday. Jurgen Klopp's side have remarkably lost back-to-back home league matches without scoring for the first time since 2012. That coming after a remarkable 68-game unbeaten run at Anfield in the Premier League. They haven't lost three home league matches in a row without scoring in the last 100 years.

Manchester City have really clicked into gear of late with 13 straight wins in all competitions. Pep Guardiola's side are actually unbeaten across their last 20 and have remarkably kept 16 clean sheets in that time. They look nailed on for the title this season and a win away to Liverpool would surely secure it.

Liverpool are incredibly unbeaten in their last 17 home league matches with City, last suffering defeat on home soil to the Citizens in 2013. City won't get a better chance to undo that record than now. Given Liverpool's current woes, it's hard to look beyond an away victory.

    Match Facts & Odds

Man City have won their last 9 matches (Premier League). Man City win 2.05

Liverpool are undefeated in their last 21 home matches against Man City in all competitions. Liverpool win or draw 1.72

Man City have kept a clean sheet in their last 6 matches (Premier League). Man City win or draw 1.30

Man City have been winning at both half time and full time in 8 of their last 9 matches (Premier League). Man City win/win 3.40

Liverpool have failed to score in their last 3 home matches (Premier League). Liverpool lose or draw 1.30

There have been under 2.5 goals scored in Liverpool's last 4 home games (Premier League). Under 2.5 goals 2.10

Man City have scored at least 2 goals in their last 3 away matches (Premier League). Over 1.5 goals 1.20

    Aston Villa vs Arsenal

    Kick off:13:30

    Date: Sat, 06-Feb-21

    Probable Lineups

    Team News

Aston Villa slipped to a disappointing 3-1 home defeat to West Ham on Wednesday night. Dean Smith has depended on around 13 players up until this point but really needs to trust others if Villa are to ensure their second half of the season is not a disappointment.

Arsenal looked in complete control against Wolves until David Luiz clipped Willian Jose in the 44th-minute for a penalty and controversial red card. They ended up losing 2-1 with goalkeeper Bernd Leno also sent off. They've failed to win back-to-back league games.

Aston Villa ran out 3-0 winners when they visited the Emirates in the reverse fixture back in November but their supporters may not feel as confident in their team after watching the West Ham game in midweek. Arsenal supporters, meanwhile, are never confident these days.

A difficult match to call all things considered, it should be entertaining nonetheless. Arsenal did at least play really well up until a crazy 45 minutes and if they can reproduce that start then they could prove too strong for a jaded Villa.

    Match Facts & Odds

Aston Villa have seen over 2.5 goals in 14 of their last 17 matches against Arsenal in all competitions. Over 2.5 goals 1.66

There have been over 2.5 goals scored in Arsenal's last 3 away games (Premier League). Over 2.5 goals 1.66

    Prediction by Squad

    Aston Villa 2-2 Arsenal

    Manchester United vs Everton

    Kick off: 21:00

    Date: Sat, 06-Feb-21

    Probable Lineups

    Team News

After two disappointing results against Sheffield United and Arsenal, Manchester United's confidence levels are restored after a 9-0 win over Southampton in midweek.

Since losing 4-0 to Everton early in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's tenure, United are now unbeaten in their last four encounters with the Toffees. They haven't lost to Everton at Old Trafford since 2013.

Everton snapped a two-game winless streak with a 2-1 victory away to Leeds on Wednesday, although they were hanging on at the end. Carlo Ancelotti's side are only four points off fourth place Liverpool ahead of the weekend.

It's hard to look beyond a home win after their victory against Southampton even if Everton will be a hugely competitive opponent on Saturday night.

    Match Facts & Odds

Everton have won their last 4 away matches (Premier League). Everton win 6.50

Man Utd are undefeated in 15 of their last 16 matches (Premier League). Man Utd win or draw 1.11

Man Utd are undefeated in 13 of their last 14 matches against Everton in all competitions. Man Utd win or draw 1.11

There have been over 2.5 goals scored in Man Utd's last 3 home games (Premier League). Over 2.5 goals 1.66

    Predictions by Squad

    Man Utd 3-1 Everton

    Sheffield United vs Chelsea

    Kick off: 20:15

    Date: Sun, 07-Feb-21

    Probable Lineups

    Team News

Sheffield United looked doomed only a few weeks ago but have rallied superbly in recent weeks with three Premier League wins from their last five, only losing to Tottenham and Manchester City in that time.

Results were so poor for Sheffield United at the start of the season, however, that they are still 11 points from safety before a ball has been kicked this weekend. They still have a lot of hard work to do to beat the drop.

Chelsea have won their first three matches under Thomas Tuchel. The German is the first Chelsea manager since Jose Mourinho in his first stint to kickstart his tenure with three straight clean sheets.

This match will follow a similar pattern to Tuchel's first three matches. Chelsea will see an awful lot of the ball. Expect another victory for Chelsea as they edge closer to the top four.

    Match Facts & Odds

There have been under 2.5 goals scored in Chelsea's last 5 games (Premier League). Under 2.5 goals 1.90

Chelsea have kept a clean sheet in their last 3 matches (Premier League). Chelsea win or draw 1.10

Sheff Utd have seen over 2.5 goals in their last 4 matches against Chelsea in all competitions. Over 2.5 goals 1.90

    Prediction by Squad

    Sheff Utd 0-2 Chelsea

    SD Huesca vs Real Madrid

    Kick off: 16:15

    Date: Sat, 06-Feb-21

    Probable Lineups

    Team News

Huesca picked up just their second league win of the season last time out, taking a vital 3-1 away win to Real Valladolid.

After sacking Michel, progress was slow, but the home side will now be hoping to kickstart their campaign.

Real Madrid will be keen to turn things around quickly after a league defeat to Levante that has seen them drop further points in the title race.

    Match Facts & Odds

There have been under 2.5 goals scored in SD Huesca's last 7 home games (LaLiga). Under 2.5 goals 2.10

SD Huesca have failed to score in their last 3 home matches (LaLiga). SD Huesca lose or draw 1.10

Real Madrid have won their last 3 matches against SD Huesca in all competitions. Real Madrid win 1.44

SD Huesca have failed to win 9 of their last 10 home matches (LaLiga). SD Huesca lose or draw 1.10

Real Madrid are undefeated in their last 6 away matches (LaLiga). Real Madrid win or draw 1.10

    Prediction by Squad

    SD Huesca 0-2 Real Madrid
