The fight to eradicate the killer Fulanis from the South West, has been the major point of discussion in Nigeria. Few weeks ago the Ondo State Governor gave an ultimatum of quit notice to the Fulanis residing in the state. The Ondo State Governor also presented to them some terms and conditions that should be followed if at all, the Fulanis would like to remain in their forest.
Just yesterday, no fewer than 37 Fulanis and over 500 cattles were chased out of the Ondo State forest for violating the quit notice of the State Government. The security agency in charge are the Amoketun. The Amoketun chased out about 37 Fulanis for violating the quit notice of forest reserves.
Vanguard news further reported that The Fulanis were chased out from forest reserves located at Ala, Oda and Ofosu. Confirming the arrest is the Commander of the State Amotekun Adetunji Adeyeye. According to him
“Some of them have opted to leave the state because they couldn’t meet with our terms and conditions. So our men escorted them to the boundaries of those states. We have to monitor their movements out of the state so that they would not destroy farms on their way out".
I think this is a good way of actually chasing the the killer Fulanis out of South West. It is better you chase them out peacefully than killing them. Since the inception of the Amotekun they have been of great help, covering the gaps left by the Nigerian police.
