Don't be surprised I am writing on this topic. I understand very well that ideologies rule the world. I construe "SMAN" and "SWAN" as recent ideologies, gaining momentum in the Nigerian society today. Of course, it's like a thing of joke, but it has the capacity to sooner or later affect some minds negatively.
To whom does the membership of (SMAN) or (SWAN) apply? Married or Single? Or Both? If the stinginess of men to women bothers on monetary issues, does it mean women should only love men because of money? If the stinginess of women to men concerns issues related to sex, does it mean a man sees nothing else in a woman but sex?
If the motto of the Stingy Men Association of Nigeria (SMAN) is "Fold your hands" and that of the Stingy Women Association of Nigeria (SWAN) is "Close your legs", does it mean relationship is nothing else but "money" and "sex?"
Unfortunately, "money" and "sex" has largely become the determinant factor of several relationships in the world today. No wonder several marriages are collapsing on daily basis. True relationship built on mutual respect and genuine affection between a man and woman is becoming scarce.
Thus, I consider the "SMAN" and "SWAN developments as interesting. Why? It seems to be a revolution that is calling for the true definition of man and woman relationship.
On the other hand, I fear it does not become a strategy to promoting Same Sex Union in the society.
Men are not money makers and women are not sex givers. The man and woman are created to complement each other, not to use each other.
