• Fake solders are arrested
  • Two Soldiers impersonator were on Tuesday, September 22, arrested in the Sagamu area of Ogun State. The Ogun State Police Command said the fake soldiers were apprehended following a call for help received by the DPO of Sakura Police division. CRIMECHANNELS learnt that it all started when four men, who were dressed in Military attire came down from a Sienna bus at Sabo market Sagamu and started beating up an elderly woman, causing pandemonium in the area. The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement, confirmed the incident, he said that, “the suspected fake Soldiers beat up an elderly market woman thereby disrupting commercial activities in the market.” “In the course of the altercation, a serving Soldier arrived at the scene and demanded the identity of the suspects. But, instead of identifying themselves, they started boarding commercial motorcycles to escape from the scene, hence the distress call to the Police.” “As a result of the information, the DPO of Sakura division, CSP Dahunsi Ronald, reportedly led his patrol team to the scene where two of the suspects were arrested.” According to Oyeyemi, angry youths in the area had attempted to hijack the suspects in a bid to beat them up, however, they were quickly whisked away from the scene by the police.
